3 Installing the Air Locker

F Remount the differential as before.

F Release spreader tension (if applicable).

F Check backlash again as before.

3.9 Setting Up the Bulkhead Fitting

F Apply thread sealant to the threads of the bulkhead body.

F Screw the bulkhead body into the tapped hole, and tighten.

F Wipe the area clean of any excess thread sealant (inside and

outside of the housing).

F Bend the seal housing tube to the approximate shape (Fig. 12.),

and trim to length using an automotive tube cutter.

F Insert the free end of the seal housing tube into the bulkhead fitting

until it protrudes approximately 8mm [5/16”] through the other side.

F From the outside of the housing, assemble the small O-ring over

the top of the short length of seal housing protruding through the

bulkhead fitting.

F While still holding the seal housing tube into the bulkhead fitting,

insert the small drilled end of the center compression nut over the

extended tube as shown in the assembly diagram (Fig.13.), and

screw it into the bulkhead body, and lightly tighten.
